Dear Pond People
For many Pond People, this has been a Silent Summer, reminiscent of Rachel Carson's Silent Spring. At our White Pond meeting last week there was a strong consensus that the pond's current toxic algae outbreak is a local eco-crisis that requires effective action.
Based on views expressed at the meeting and further conversations this past week, we are forming a Preserve White Pond coalition to ask the Town to approve the White Pond Advisory Committee's A Shared Future: A Comprehensive Vision for White Pond as the Town's vision and implement its recommendations.
You can find out more about the coalition's Preserve White Pond Initiative here. We welcome your support and hope to see you at the White Pond Advisory Committee meeting this Wednesday August 5 at 7:30 PM at 141 Keyes Rd.
And keep sending healing energy to the Pond!
